After being hit hard by the pandemic, Brisbane CBD restaurants will be given a boost with a new campaign to encourage diners back to the city to eat.

Dine BNE City will run from May 13-30 offering 80 exclusive offers and dining experiences across 50 venues, including big name eateries Donna Chang, Madame Wu, Walter’s Steakhouse and Persone Italian.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the campaign was a fantastic opportunity for locals and visitors to rediscover the city’s dining scene and support its economic recovery.

“The response from city restaurateurs has been overwhelmingly positive with more than 50 restaurants and bars eager to get on board with Dine BNE City, not just for increased foot traffic and boosted revenue, but to band together after a year of uncertainty to elevate the city’s vibrant culinary scene,” Mr Schrinner said.

The inaugural initiative will include a range of weekday lunch deals for under $35, exclusive supper club experiences with three or five-course menus, specialty curated food and drink pairings at some of the CBD’s best bars, walking cocktail trails and more.

Restaurateur John Gambaro from riverside Italian eatery Persone on George St hoped the program would drive people back to the CBD, as many city office employees continued to work from home.

“Dine BNE is a great opportunity for all CBD restaurants to really maximise their presence – and for the public to take advantage of some amazing dining offers from restaurants that have really missed having the CBD foot-traffic throughout COVID,” Mr Gambaro said.
