Kangaroo Point landmark eatery The Cliffs Cafe has changed hands, undergoing a massive makeover to relaunch with a new name, new look and new offering.

Joey’s has opened along River Tce on the edge of the iconic Brisbane cliffs, taking over the Brisbane City Council-owned site after Bellissimo Coffee and Jordan Cowen won the tender.

The fresh eatery will operate seven days a week as an all-day cafe, bar and restaurant, with one the best views in town overlooking the river and city skyline.

“We were thrilled to take over this Brisbane landmark site and can’t wait to share what we have created with the people of Brisbane,” Mr Cowen said.

The previously modern and minimalist site has been completely transformed, now boasting a fit-out in keeping with the suburb’s beloved Queenslander homes. Expect weatherboard exteriors, light bright interiors and a deck dining area to capture the vista.

Under chef Jason Walker (ex-Cru Bar, Fortitude Valley), Joey’s will serve a simple breakfast menu running from bacon and egg rolls and corn fritters to buttermilk pancakes, while diners at lunch and dinner can expect the likes of kingfish tacos, chicken schnitzel, crab linguine and wood-fired pizzas and bread.

Former Howard Smith Wharves wine guru Ian Trinkle has created the drinks list, which will featuring an extensive array of rose, alongside modern varietals from hard-to-find labels; as well as signature cocktails.
