WELL-LOVED Brisbane burger business DA’Burger has suddenly closed its doors, just two months after opening a third store.
Owned by Brisbane couple James and Wendy D’Ath, the business had eateries in New Farm, Ascot and West End, with the last two stores launching in quick succession in August and November last year.

About 20 staff have been affected by the shock cease of trade, with one employee saying she was only told about the closure when she turned up to work on Monday morning and was informed she no longer had a job.
“There were no signs (it was going to close) it was a complete shock,” said the employee, who did not want to be named.
She said she was owed a week’s pay, plus holiday pay and was waiting to hear from the owners as to the future of the business.
A sign in the window of the New Farm store informed customers that DA’Burger had ceased trading on January 21 and thanked patrons for their support.
“From all of us we want to thank you for your incredible support over the years and we thank you with all of our hearts,” read the note.
An advisor for the business said he could not yet confirm the reason behind the unexpected closure, but said the business had not gone into liquidation.
