She’s cooked for British royalty, heads of state and some of the biggest movie and pop stars on the planet, now Lisa Mead wants to cook for Queenslanders.
The Sunshine State-raised chef has spent the past 26 years aboard luxury yachts in the Caribbean and Mediterranean making meals for A-listers, including Chevy Chase, Pete Townshend from The Who and a host of other major music and big screen talent that she sadly can’t reveal thanks to signing non-disclosure agreements.
But after being forced to return to Australia because of COVID-19, she is now looking to offer her star touch to locals through a new range of luxury yacht experiences.
Ms Mead has created Indulgence Charters – glamorous day charters from Southport and Sydney aboard an 80 or 86ft yacht where she acts as either a private chef or offers unique floating cooking classes.

“I offer cooking workshops or spa treatments and live jazz or classical music on board and the client gets a list of choices in advance and we go out for four to six hours and they have a lovely indulgent day,” she said.
If staying on land is more your thing though, the chef to the stars also offers cooking classes out of a commercial kitchen in Brisbane’s Enoggera, or private catered events or classes in your own home, where she will tell you her stories about cooking cheeseburgers at midnight with one of the world’s biggest male movie actors, or perhaps having to sail a yacht 14 hours by herself because she was the only sober person on a boat chartered by an American multi-millionaire.
“It’s nice to be able to provide something that’s exotic and fun in your own backyard,” she said.
