There’s a fresh twist in the years-long drama engulfing the Cyrus family, with Miley’s mum - who she’s long been close to - now seemingly turning on her.

Miley Cyrus’ mother, Tish Cyrus, has seemingly unfollowed her famous daughter on Instagram.
It’s not known why Tish, 57, removed Miley, 32, from her follow list, with the tight-knit duo long thought to have shared a close relationship.
However, the unfollow came shortly after Tish’s ex-husband and Miley’s dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, hinted at a long-awaited father-daughter reunion via social media.
“Can’t wait to see this young lady,” dad Billy Ray, 63, captioned a clip of Miley singing at the piano on Wednesday. “Crazy how time flies.”
The Access Miley fan account on X swiftly noted — within an hour of Billy Ray’s post — that Tish was no longer following Miley on Instagram.
Page Six reached out to reps for Billy Ray, Miley and Tish for comments but did not receive immediate responses.
The alleged unfollow comes amid years of drama for the Cyrus clan, beginning with the divorce of Billy Ray and Tish in 2022.
Not long after, it was reported Miley’s relationship with her father had suffered amid the split, with Miley remaining extremely close to her mother.
“The divorce between her parents has put a strain on [Miley’s] relationship with her dad and it’s been hard to connect with him in the last year,” an insider told the outlet at the time.
“She hopes they can eventually work on their relationship.”
Tish went on to remarry, tying the knot with Prison Break star, Australian actor Dominic Purcell in 2023 — a move Miley’s sister Noah Cyrus deeply disapproved of — while Billy Ray married Aussie singer Firerose. However, he divorced her less than a year later.
Miley served as maid of honour at the Malibu wedding.
In February 2024, Us Weekly exposed drama within the family when they reported that “Noah was [seeing] Dominic when Tish started pursuing him.” Though, Tish and Noah seem to have reconciled after they were spotted dancing together on TikTok in April.
The Hannah Montana star’s apparent estrangement from her father reached its peak at the 2024 Grammys, when she famously excluded her dad from her acceptance speech after Flowers won record of the year.
In 2025, Miley showed her allegiance to her mother by taking her to the Grammy Awards ceremony, further fuelling speculation that her feud with her father is ongoing.
Billy Ray took to Instagram in March to gush over both Miley and Noah, despite the continuing rumours.
“Holy s**t. I seldom ever swear in my post but this deserves one!” he captioned a pair of photos of his daughters on Instagram.
“You are witnessing in real time what it feels like for a Dad who with in less than one weeks time has had his ass kicked and his mind blown by not one … but two of his own daughters @mileycyrus @noahcyrus.”
The latest Cyrus drama comes amid Billy Ray’s unexpected new romance with actress Elizabeth Hurley.
The duo debuted their relationship on Easter Sunday with a PDA photo.
“Happy Easter,” the Austin Powers star captioned the Instagram post, alongside a red heart.
It was reported the couple recently grew close in the wake of Billy Ray’s divorce from Firerose.
Miley and Billy Ray played a father-and-daughter duo on the smash hit Disney series Hannah Montana, which rocketed them both to global fame.
