BREAKFAST

Perfectly positioned between the Royal Crescent and the Circus, which are must-see spots for any stay in Bath, The Greenbird Cafe is a great place to grab some breakfast. I like to start the day with their sourdough toast from The Bertinet Bakery topped with poached hen's egg and sliced avocado. Alternatively, Walcot Street is the artisan quarter of the city, with independent shops to explore. There, Cafe Walcot forms part of larger venue Walcot House. Enjoy a delicious coffee and piece of homemade cake. Their moist carrot and walnut cake topped with cream-cheese icing is a firm favourite of mine.

LUNCH

Just a short walk from The Gainsborough Bath Spa, in a Grade Two Listed building you will find Noya's Kitchen. Noya draws on her Vietnamese roots to create dishes bursting with flavour. With the menu changing weekly according to what's available seasonally, you're sure to be eating the freshest of ingredients lovingly put together by Noya herself in the kitchen below. My current favourite is the Bun Bo, slow cooked brisket, beef, garlic pork ham in a lovely deep beef broth – the perfect warming dish as the colder weather starts to arrive in the UK. The restaurant is small but homey, almost as if you're sat in Noya's dining room.

AFTERNOON TEA

Afternoon tea is a great British tradition in which you must indulge. Here at The Gainsborough Bath Spa, we offer our afternoon tea selection in the stylish and relaxed Canvas Room. Enjoy a sumptuous home-made traditional afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, a selection of delicious cakes and pastries, and my favourite element of any afternoon tea, fruit and plain scones with clotted cream and seasonal preserves.

DINNER

Although Bath may not be near the sea, it doesn't mean we don't know how to serve a mouth-watering classic, fish and chips. With its nautical interiors, The Scallop Shell transports you to the coast with its flaky cod, hand-cut chips and sumptuous shellfish platters. This is a must-visit for a hearty dinner.

NIGHTCAP

With walls lined with whiskey to suit every taste, The Hideout is my favourite place for an evening drink. My cocktail of choice: a Doublewood comprising Balvenie 12-Year-Old, Balvenie 17-Year-Old, gentian liquor infused with lemon and clove, Stones Ginger Wine and Old Fashioned bitters. Legend says this place was originally a hoard for thieves and highwaymen. Although the clientele has changed over the years, the artful bartenders can mix you up a classic cocktail that has stood the test of time. See hideoutbath.co.uk
