Trainspotting
Contemporary
After 12 years in fine dining, Cameron Macpherson, with wife Ngaio, started this tiny jewel of a cafe in order to achieve better work-life balance for his young family (hence the early closing hour). The coffee is by Bills Beans from Orange, and the house blend makes a smooth milk-based coffee ($3.50) with honeyed overtones, or choose a regularly changing single origin for espresso. Then it's time to pick your favourite deadly sin from the menu - lust, perhaps - a French toast croissant topped with mixed berry compote, poached pear and double cream drizzled in maple syrup that is very appropriately named.
