Mountain men don't eat salads. If you want fresh, order a pie. The hearty deep-dish pies are the house speciality and are made on the premises. There's a choice of three for the carnivores and one for the vegetarian. Steaks are also popular. If you need any more calories, be early to choose from the blackboard dessert menu because the kitchen can close from around 8pm. Another reason to get in early is to score a seat by the large open fire - harder than getting a grand final ticket if you visit in winter.
