Ginger & Shallots is a tidy little corner cafe in the middle of Eastwood's Asian cuisine mecca. The regulars browse the menu of inexpensive Cantonese soul food for signature dishes like the beef with ginger & shallots, stir fried with rice wine and served sizzling hot. Deep-fried flounder with salt and pepper announces its arrival in an explosion of colour, its golden crunchy exterior liberally sprinkled with red chilli, shallots, onion and garlic. For the more adventurous, a salmon head hotpot in XO sauce is popular with the locals.
