Market Lane Coffee and All Are Welcome bakery open new sites in Brunswick and Ivanhoe East
Specialty coffee roaster Market Lane opened its eighth cafe in Brunswick last week, a wood and terracotta-lined space on Sydney Road.
With 26 or so seats, it's one of the largest Market Lane sites around town. Along with hot and iced coffee drinks, it's serving Austrian sweets, such as rhubarb-hazelnut streusel, plus choc-cinnamon morning buns and Vegemite-gruyere scrolls, all from Austro Bakery in South Melbourne.
David Goss has designed this cafe, as well as Market Lane's newest Queen Victoria Market site. Brewing equipment, such as scales and grinders, and ceramic cups are for sale, along with beans roasted at the HQ in East Brunswick.
All Are Welcome is also on the expansion path, opening its third location in Ivanhoe East in December.
A yellow doorway acts as a portal to the artisan goods that have won the bakery ardent fans over the past six years, including lemon-blueberry bostock, ham and gruyere croissants and more. The bread line-up includes huge rye loaves, sprouted spelt tin loaves and challah. Sandwiches are also on offer.
Director Boris Portnoy says he's excited to be part of the village-like high street, alongside Vinoshis wine bar.

All Are Welcome: Open daily 8am-2pm, 255 Lower Heidelberg Road, Ivanhoe East, all-are-welcome.com
