Two-hatted Sydney fine diner Oscillate Wildly to close
In a fresh blow for the pointy end of Sydney dining, Oscillate Wildly is set to close in Newtown.
The restaurant, which currently holds two chefs hats, has confirmed it will serve its last degustation at its Australia Street digs at the end of August, but hinted it may regenerate elsewhere.
Described by The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide as a "progressive fine diner with the heart of a neighbourhood bistro", Oscillate Wildly has been flag-bearer for dining in the inner-west. Chef Karl Firla has been at the helm of the pint-sized restaurant, which punches above its weight, for the past decade.
Sydney's top-end has seen a shift, with restaurants including Bridge Room, Marque, Eleven Bridge, Gastro Park and Sepia disappearing from its culinary map.
