Bang Bang Izakaya heading to Sydney's new Darling Square
Updated , first published
Sydney already has plenty of bang for its buck with Bangbang Cafe and Bang Street Food, but it's about to get even more complicated for taxi drivers with a new moniker riding into town: Bang Bang Izakaya.
The Darling Square project is shrouded in secrecy; a spokesman for the start-up declining to name its "experienced" operators or local designer, however we do know some things.
The kitchen is seemingly in skilled hands, with chef Kokubo Yuji head-hunted from the kitchen of Nobu Tokyo.
If you like a neon-lit Japanese whisky and craft beer bar with your meal you're in luck, and if you like to sing for your supper even better – the venue will have a soundproof private karaoke dining room.
Darling Square has also signed Matcha-Ya, Ricefields, and new branches for Gyradiko in Bexley and Surry Hills's The Sandwich Shop.
A posse of other venues had previously signed to inner-city development, including Melbourne's 8bit and Belles Hot Chicken.
