Los Angeles | The worsening hit to consumer and business confidence as coronavirus fear spreads could force the Federal Reserve's hand as early as this week, according to leading Australian central bank-watcher Paul Sheard.
He says the US central bank could cut its cash rate straight away, and then follow up with another reduction later in March to head off the damage from the outbreak.
