Washington | US President Donald Trump said Jerome Powell should “resign immediately” if allegations from an administration official that the Federal Reserve chairman misled lawmakers proves to be true.
Speaking in a cabinet meeting on Tuesday (Wednesday AEST), Trump called Powell “terrible” and told reporters that if allegations he deceived Congress over renovations to the Fed’s headquarters proved true, it would be grounds for a swift exit.
