Trump pauses trade war on Mexico, Canada
Washington | Donald Trump agreed to delay imposing sweeping tariffs on Mexico and Canada after striking deals with his counterparts at the 11th hour on Monday (Tuesday AEDT), a dramatic turnabout with his neighbours on the brink of a trade war.
Both Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said they would crack down on illegal immigration and drug trafficking by each deploying 10,000 troops and other personnel at their borders.
