9/11 changed everything – and spurred working from home

The Australian investment bankers and financial service employees who lived through the attacks on America knew that getting back into the office was the first step back to normality.

Washington | Some time on September 11, 2001, a $US100 million cheque from Japanese financial services company Nomura landed on the roof of Australian Andrew Meagher’s apartment in central New York.

The cheque came to rest there, covered in dust, after floating its way across seven city blocks from the World Trade Centre.
