Pelosi, Mnuchin 'closer to deal' as McConnell warns White House
Washington | Democrats and Republicans are moving "closer to an agreement" on more pandemic stimulus funding even as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell reportedly warned the White House against making any big-ticket deals before the election.
As House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's self-imposed "48-hour" deadline to cut a deal expired on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT), her spokesman said she spoke with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin for about 45 minutes.
