New York | A Mexican Navy training tall ship on a goodwill tour drifted directly into the underside of the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday night (Sunday AEST), smashing its masts and rigging and killing two people.

There were 277 people on board the ship, the Cuauhtemoc, at the time of the crash, and everyone is believed to be accounted for, a New York Fire Department official said.
