London | “I’m not going to start wars, I’m going to stop wars,” President-elect Donald Trump said in his election victory speech in Florida. But on the two big battlefields of Ukraine and the Middle East, the response from many regional leaders was cautious.
Many of the protagonists – including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin – have a chequered history with volatile Trump, which conditioned their public responses.
