Washington | US President Joe Biden fought off speculation he would relinquish his re-election bid on Friday (Saturday AEST), telling ABC News America his disastrous debate performance was a “bad episode”.

Mr Biden spent the past week attending public events, private fund-raisers and rallies to defuse a political crisis over his shaky live debate performance against Republican nominee Donald Trump, where he froze and mumbled.
