Washington | Australia will pay $7 billion to the US government for hundreds of long-range missiles in a deal aimed at countering China’s rising military strength that reflects the biggest arms race in the Pacific since World War II.

Defence Industry Minister Pat Conroy met with US Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro on Monday (Tuesday AEDT) in Washington to iron out the deal already approved by Congress.
