Trump hails ‘historic dawn’ but Hamas breaks deal to return bodies

London | Israel and families of Israeli hostages have accused Hamas of breaking its ceasefire agreement after only returning the remains of four of the 28 dead hostages it held, just hours after US President Donald Trump urged Israel to accept its victory over the terrorists as a platform for broader Middle East peace.

While jubilant Israelis celebrated the release of the final 20 hostages after they had endured two years of hellish captivity in Gaza, the news was tempered by the fact that many families had not received the remains of their loved ones, sparking calls for Israel to suspend the agreement.
