Washington | Israel vowed victory against its enemies on Sunday after thwarting Iran’s unprecedented drone and missile attack on Israeli soil that threatened to push the Middle East into a regional war and upend global markets.

Air raid sirens and booms sounded across Jerusalem and southern and northern Israel and in the occupied Golan Heights on Saturday night (Sunday AEST), while the skies were lit up by incoming drones, cruise and ballistic missiles, and Israeli air defence interceptors.
