Canberra/London | US President Joe Biden will make a high-risk visit to Israel as Benjamin Netanyahu’s government continues war plans for a ground assault on Gaza and widens the conflict to launch airstrikes against targets in Lebanon.

Iranian officials warned of a wider war with the conflict “unavoidably” spreading beyond Gaza, as world leaders sought to contain the crisis and alleviate civilian suffering.
