Tokyo | Donald Trump has declared “great progress” after high-level trade talks between the US and China kicked off in Geneva on the weekend, aimed at defusing a trade war that threatens to hammer the global economy.
As negotiations were planned for a second day on Sunday (overnight AEST), the US president described the meeting as a “total reset” in the trade war that has brought bilateral commerce to a near standstill and rocked global markets.
