Paris | Australian golfers Jason Day and Min Woo Lee came to the Paris 2024 Games to play four rounds. But they quickly discovered that the Olympics is a golf tournament like no other.
The crowds were huge and vocal, and their good-natured fervour seemed more directed at their country than any particular player. Many golfers, including Day and Lee, were competing not in the usual bland polo shirt, but in gaudy national colours. This was not your standard mercenary game of golf, and everybody knew it.
