Putin critic Alexei Navalny dies in Arctic prison camp
Alexei Navalny, the Russian lawyer and anti-corruption activist who became the most potent voice in opposition to President Vladimir Putin, has died in a remote prison camp, according to Russian authorities. He was 47.
Mr Navalny fell sick during a walk and medical staff were unable to revive him, the prison service said Friday. They said the 47-year-old, who had appeared healthy and in good spirits in a video court hearing on Thursday, lost consciousness and died soon afterwards.
