King Charles III will be proclaimed the new monarch of Australia on Sunday in a historic meeting of the Executive Council, made up of Governor-General David Hurley, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and federal ministers.
Confirmation of Queen Elizabeth II’s death has triggered the local version of Operation London Bridge, the long-standing plans for the Queen’s funeral.
