Paris | Farming protests that have rocked France in recent days look set to spread across Europe, which could deal a near-mortal blow to the prospects of a free-trade deal between Australia and the European Union.

Spanish and Portuguese farming bodies on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT) said they would organise protests, after French farmers continued their blockade of highways leading into Paris for a second day.
