London | The likely switch to a Labour government in Britain next week will not unpick the country’s backing for AUKUS, says the Australian-born MP in line to become the UK’s minister for Asia and the Pacific.
Catherine West, who grew up in Sydney but moved to Britain in her early 20s, sought to hose down Conservative accusations that a Europe-centric Labour government would de-prioritise the defence mega-deal with Australia and the US.
