China repudiated the Trump administration and warned the bilateral relationship was at risk of being hurt, after the US sanctioned more Chinese firms and citizens for their alleged role in helping North Korea develop weapons of mass destruction.
The US Treasury intensified pressure on China and Russia on Tuesday, by blocking 16 businesses and individuals from the US financial system for supporting Pyongyang's nuclear and ballistic missile programs, energy trade, export of labour and evasion of sanctions.
