Hakuba, Japan | Once a year, Toshiro Maruyama and 8400 other residents of the Japanese hamlet of Hakuba brace themselves for an Aussie invasion.
They start arriving in the usually sleepy town nestled in the Japanese Alps in early December. The first wave comprises twenty-something Australians coming to work in the hotels, bars, restaurants and on the slopes.
