Singapore extends shutdown after spike in new infections

Construction sites across Singapore will shut down this week when the government closes many workplaces and all schools after a spike in new COVID-19 infections.

The new restrictions are an acknowledgement the city state has lost its early-mover advantage in the global race to flatten the curve of new cases.
