DFAT acts on Future Fund’s Myanmar investments
Singapore | The Myanmar military will not take part in a meeting of regional foreign ministers in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh this week, while supporters of the country’s alternative government are stepping up their international lobbying efforts.
The Association of South-East Asian Nations has again refused to allow the junta to send a representative from the government it installed after seizing power a year ago. In a statement, Myanmar’s Foreign Affairs Ministry said it refused to take up ASEAN’s invitation to send a “non-political representative”.
