China says it is not relaxing COVID controls but will tweak rules
Tokyo | Chinese health officials have denied the country is preparing to relax COVID-19 controls dramatically, but say they will continue to refine the country’s strict quarantine rules to take pressure off government resources.
The Chinese government on Saturday moved to hose down speculation it was preparing to reopen the country and abolish zero-COVID rules by March after announcing it would reduce quarantine time for in-bound travellers and close contacts.
