China’s new stimulus underwhelms as ‘big fat’ numbers missing
Tokyo | China’s latest efforts to ramp up support for the stuttering economy have failed to win over economists and other experts, who warned hopes of a “big fat” injection of stimulus funding to shore up growth were fading.
At a highly anticipated briefing on the weekend, Finance Minister Lan Fo’an refrained from putting a price tag on China’s fiscal stimulus as investors expected, signalling that details would come when China’s legislature met in the coming weeks.
