Traders give China a ‘second chance’, but time is running out

A sense of cautious optimism has swept financial markets ahead of a key briefing from China’s Finance Ministry on Saturday, with traders hoping authorities finally back up their stimulus pledges with concrete financial support.

The announcement that China’s Ministry of Finance will hold a press conference injected fresh enthusiasm into financial markets on Thursday following the disappointing briefing by top economic planner the National Development and Reform Commission earlier in the week.
