Workers told to expect lower nominal pay rises as economy cools

Employers expect to lift salaries by an average of 3.8 per cent this financial year, new data shows, amid mounting evidence that pay rises appear to have passed their post-pandemic peak.

Economists expect annual wages growth for the June quarter to come in at 4 per cent in figures to be released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday morning.
