Western Sydney Airport will push airfares down: CEO

Australia’s first, large, new airport in 56 years, Western Sydney International Nancy-Bird Walton Airport, will put downward pressure on airfares and become a major logistical centre and source of economic growth in Western Sydney, chief executive Simon Hickey says.

The airport will incorporate the newest innovations in airport design, he says, including biometric services, computerised baggage control and a layout and information systems that should lead to shorter waiting times for passengers and aircraft.
