Two things have killed the post-pandemic job-switching boom

Fewer Australians are switching jobs as employers pull back on hiring and more workers decide that the rewards for moving, such as higher pay, no longer outweigh the risks.
Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics show the share of employed people who changed jobs over the 12 months to February 2024 fell to 8 per cent from 9.6 per cent the previous year.
