Prime Minister Anthony Albanese praised ACTU leaders Sally McManus and Michele O’Neil as the “magnificent duo” at the peak body’s congress dinner on Wednesday night, holding up their arms in triumph.

The pair were elected unopposed for another three years this week and kept a carefully stage-managed triennial union congress focused on campaigning on shorter working hours, climate policy and tackling the rise of artificial intelligence.
