A former executive at Mineral Resources is suing the company for damages after it demoted him and eventually pushed him out allegedly because he was too old.

Alexander Vincan, 62, who was executive general manager at MinRes business Carbonart and later manager at subsidiary CSI Mining, has launched Federal Court action alleging a senior MinRes executive replaced him with a close friend after flagging he had to let go of Mr Vincan because of his age.
