The Rush judgment could see #MeToo shift its focus to confidentiality protections rather than the public airing of allegations that have defined the movement so far, according to leading sexual harassment experts.

Lawyers and academics say the defamation judgment that found sexual harassment claims against Geoffrey Rush were not credible highlighted the failure of employers to protect complainants' privacy and could see sexual harassment concerns head underground in a manner that risked reversing awareness of the issue.
