How women can remove the ‘ick’ factor and become experts
One of the greatest barriers to women owning their expertise publicly is fear of criticism and being exposed as an imposter.
Penny Locasobehavioural scientist and excecutive coachDespite progress towards gender equality, women continue to be significantly underrepresented as experts on visible platforms of influence. Globally, less than 24 per cent of news sources and approximately 31 per cent of paid speakers are women.
This under-representation stifles not only the progress of gender equality but also the societal benefits it unlocks including increased employment, GDP growth and greater business profitability to name but a few.
