Health Services Union goes to court as Asmar refuses to stand down

The Health Services Union will launch legal action to put its biggest Victorian branch into administration after its leader Diana Asmar refused to stand down pending determination of corruption claims against her.

The union’s national executive unanimously resolved on Monday to make the Federal Court application against the branch, known as the Health Workers Union, on grounds the branch could no longer function effectively.
