Young executives can not “fake it till they make it”, the Australian boss of Dutch banking behemoth ING, Melanie Evans warns.

The plain-talking bank CEO began her working life with a part-time job at McDonald’s, before securing a cadetship with St George and working as a bank teller in south-west Sydney, before being put in charge of an online share trading service in her early 20s.
