Claim for pandemic pay hinges on government support

Unions' push for pandemic pay to compensate disability workers who risk exposure to the coronavirus will fail without the Morrison government's support, employers say.
National Disability Services admitted employers in the sector could not afford unions' proposed $5-an-hour allowance despite the peak employer body formally supporting their joint application to the Fair Work Commission to introduce it into the award.
