7-Eleven settles class action for $98m

Convenience store giant 7-Eleven has settled a class action for $98 million after it was accused of misleading franchisees over average wage costs to the extent they could not stay viable without underpaying workers.
The Federal Court approved the settlement on Wednesday and will hold hearings to determine the appropriateness of the class action funder’s 25 per cent commission and claim for almost $20 million in legal costs.
