In the glorious annals of humblebrags, David Gruen deserves acknowledgement.

On Wednesday, the Australian Bureau of Statistics chief executive revealed that he will spend Thursday night sleeping outside, a decision that is public because Dr Gruen issued a press release declaring this won’t be the first time he has sacrificed comfort for compassion.
