Rod Sims, the man most feared by business according to The Australian Financial Review Magazine's Power Panel, says the competition watchdog will be taking on more cases against the tech giants, the banks and blocking major mergers because the system is broken.

The chairman of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission confirmed on Sunday that one or perhaps two cases against Facebook and Google "are close", as the watchdog ramps up action against the banks and doubles down on blocking mergers.
